Lake Worth, FL – 33 Contemporary Gallery is thrilled to present Audience Just for One by Alberto Sisso and Where Memories Reside by A. Lilia Smith, two distinctive photography projects that explore the depths of memory, identity, and human experience. Curated by Sergio Gomez, this two-person show brings together the unique perspectives of two exceptional artists, each approaching photography with a personal, evocative lens.

“Audience Just for One” by Alberto Sisso

In Audience Just for One, Alberto Sisso invites us to explore the ethereal and abstract nature of dreams. The series captures the surreal, elusive qualities of our subconscious through haunting and symbolic imagery. Sisso's work presents a journey into his inner world, where the boundaries between reality and imagination blur. His intimate approach to photography draws from nearly four decades of artistic exploration, with a focus on human emotions and timeless moments.

Alberto, a fine art photographer based in Southern Florida, is known for his ability to capture both the opera of a city and the poetry of a single gesture. His work has earned international acclaim and numerous awards.

“Where Memories Reside” by A. Lilia Smith

In Where Memories Reside, A. Lilia Smith offers a profound meditation on the passage of time, loss, and transformation. Inspired by childhood memories of her father by the sea, Smith creates poetic, abstract portraits of found objects, landscapes, and seascapes. This work blends abstraction with personal reflection, inviting viewers to connect with their own memories and emotions. The series evokes a deep, visceral understanding of memory, not as a literal recollection, but as a lived experience of the senses.

A. Lilia Smith, a fine art photographer and clinical psychologist, began her artistic journey in the 1970s with painting and dance, returning to photography in 2007. Her work was featured at the 19th Julia Margaret Cameron Award in Barcelona, Spain. With a multidisciplinary background in anthropology, philosophy, and the psychology of creativity, Smith’s photography has been exhibited at Art Boca, Art Palm Beach, and is represented by Artmedia Gallery in Miami.
