Palm Beach, FL – 33 Contemporary Gallery, in collaboration with curators Sergio Gomez and Didi Menendez, is proud to present “BFF: Modern Portraits,” a compelling group exhibition showcasing the work of over 60 artists from around the world. On view at the Palm Beach Art and Design Showroom, this innovative exhibition invites viewers to engage with the concept of contemporary portraiture through the lens of intimacy and scale.
The opening reception will take place on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and is free and open to the public.

At the heart of “BFF: Modern Portraits” lies the challenge of working within a confined space: no artwork in the exhibition exceeds 12 inches in any dimension. This intentional scale draws viewers into a close and personal interaction with the art, mirroring the immediacy of our digital age where handheld devices mediate much of our communication. From abstract interpretations to hyperrealistic depictions, the exhibition highlights a diverse range of styles and mediums, offering a modern take on the timeless art of portraiture.

About the Curators
Sergio Gomez brings decades of curatorial expertise and artistic achievement to this project. Known for his large-scale figurative abstractions and his role as Gallery Director of 33 Contemporary Gallery, Gomez has curated over 100 exhibitions, including the National Self Portrait Annual Exhibition in Chicago.
Didi Menendez is a renowned publisher, digital artist, and curator specializing in contemporary realism. As Marketing Director at 33 Contemporary, Menendez has curated exhibitions at leading galleries and museums across the globe, including the Bernarducci.Meisel Gallery in New York and the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art.
